Depending on where you store your dumpster, you may need a permit. Some cities require permits and paperwork, and so it’s important to make sure you have that all straight. We recommend storing your rental on your driveway. If that’s not convenient for you, any other paved, flat surface will do. If you’re renting for a construction job, we will need a surface large enough for our trucks to come and maneuver around. If you need help finding a location to store your dumpster, please call today. Our customer service representatives are ready to assist you.
Loading a dumpster can be a little difficult if you don’t have a plan. You want to avoid just throwing stuff in, seeing as there may be weight limits or prohibited items. Without a plan in mind, you may not get your money’s worth. We recommend that you first check with our customer service representatives you find out what restrictions your city may have.
We always suggest putting down plywood to protect your surface! As a roll-off dumpster company, we cannot be held responsible for damaged driveways, sidewalks, landscape, etc. Remember, we are placing a several-thousand pound piece of metal on the ground so it’s possible that damage will occur. Please plan accordingly, by either putting down plywood (which will go underneath the four wheels of the roll-off dumpster), or put it in a location where potential damage is okay.
Next, you should load your heavier items first. Concrete, heavy debris, and furniture should be at the bottom to ensure everything is packed down. We also advise that you load from one end of the dumpster to the other. This compacts everything and ensures you get every piece of trash and waste you can fit into your rental.
