Once you’ve chosen your size, the next step is to decide where you want us to put it when it’s delivered. First, you’ll want to make sure that you have the necessary permits and paperwork before your rental is delivered. Some cities require a permit depending on where you place it. We recommend placing your rental in your driveway, but we know that sometimes circumstances don’t always allow that. If this isn’t an option for you, any flat and paved surface works just as well.
We always suggest putting down plywood to protect your surface! As a roll-off dumpster company, we cannot be held responsible for damaged driveways, sidewalks, landscape, etc. Remember, we are placing a several-thousand pound piece of metal on the ground so it’s possible that damage will occur. Please plan accordingly, by either putting down plywood (which will go underneath the four wheels of the roll-off dumpster), or put it in a location where potential damage is okay.
After you’ve placed your dumpster, you need to come up with a strategy on filling it. Many may think that they can just throw whatever they want into the rental. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. If there isn’t a plan, things can turn chaotic quickly. City regulations can make things harder if you’re not careful. Before putting anything in your dumpster, you’ll want to make sure that you’re aware of any weight limits or prohibited items in your city. Once that is squared away, you’ll want to place your heavier items first in order to anchor down the can. Afterwards, you’ll want to load up the dumpster from one end to the other. This compacts all the trash, ensuring our get your money’s worth.
