Once you have your rental scheduled, the next step is finding a place to keep it. In some cities, it’s required to have a permit before renting. Especially if it’s being kept on public property. Finding out from your city if you need a permit is the first thing you’ll need to do. After your paperwork is secured, you’ll want to clear a space in your driveway. If your driveway is an unavailable option, any other flat and paved surface is will work just as well. We always suggest putting down plywood to protect your surface! As a roll-off dumpster company, we cannot be held responsible for damaged driveways, sidewalks, landscape, etc. Remember we’re dropping a multi-thousand pound piece of metal on the ground because it’s possible that damage will occur. Please plan accordingly, by either putting down plywood (which will go underneath the four wheels of the roll-off dumpster) or put it in a location where potential damage is okay. When your rental has arrived, filling it can be a challenge.
Without a game plan, chaos can ensue. Before loading up your roll off dumpster, you’ll want to make sure you are aware of any weight restrictions or prohibited items. Once that is figured out, we recommend starting with the heavier, bulkier items. They tend to take up more space, so putting them in first ensures you’re getting every piece of waste that you can into the dumpster. Next, work from one end of the container to the other, compacting everything. We want to make sure you fit every possible piece of trash into your rental.
